Author Leiland Dale is in the house!

I had the wonderful good fortune to interview an intriguing author this past month. Leiland Dale is a wonderful young author that granted me a brilliant insight into his works that I wanted to share with all of you. Please join me in welcoming Leiland Dale!
Tamela: Thanks for joining me today. To get us started can you please start by telling us a little about what you are working on or have coming out?
Leiland: I’m currently writing a paranormal story called A Prophecy of Destiny. My book, When a Bluebird Calls, is the first book in the Heart of the Mountain series, that was released in February.
Tamela: Could you please start by telling us a little about yourself?

Leiland: Initially, I began reading Harlequin Romance and Silhouette Desire books, and later transitioned to Silhouette Nocturne. But after reading my first gay erotic romance, I was completely hooked. As an avid reader of the genre, I decided one day to take a stab at writing a book myself, and the result was Paul’s D’Marco. After the success of my first book, I continued writing gay erotica ever since.
Tamela: If you could be one of the characters from this book – Who would you be? And why?
Leiland: In When a Bluebird Calls, I would definitely say I would choose to be Devon, the guy being chased. I’d love to fall in love with a cowboy. That would just be incredibly romantic.
Tamela: Who or what influenced you when you wrote this book? Did you have a CD, Songs, environment, etc?
Leiland: I always have music playing while I’m writing. I love listening to Enya and for some reason it gets my creativity flowing. I wasn’t specifically influenced by anything with When a Bluebird Calls, however writing it brought forward the idea, that even though you’re male and gay, you’re allowed to have feelings and show them, tears and all, especially to your partner.
Tamela: Can you please give us a sneak peek into the book?
Leiland: When the Bluebird Calls is about a veterinarian, Devon Reid, who lost his mother and in the process, his long-term boyfriend. In order for him to deal with his losses, he packs up everything to start over and moves to a small ranch town where he meets the sexy ranch foreman, Greg Elliot. Although, they are instantly attracted to one another, they both have their own pasts to work through before they can truly move on and be in a relationship together.
Tamela: Please tell us what you have planned next?
Leiland: I’ll be continuing my writing on The Fallen Guardian and The Heart of a Mate. I’m hoping to have A Prophecy of Destiny released near the end of February.
Tamela: What kind of research did you do for this book? Did you enjoy the research process?
Leiland: For When a Blue Bird Calls there wasn’t a lot of research involved. Most of the writing is completely fictional. The only thing I did research was a bit about cabins and foaling.
Tamela: What would you like to tell your readers?

Leiland: I don’t belong to a critique group as such, but I do have my two editors that do my editing that give me great insight and guide me constantly. Without them I wouldn’t have made it this far.
